CPC Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Benefit Recital at Carnegie Hall
New York, NY — The Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) continued its 60th Anniversary celebration with an unforgettable evening of music and community at the Mother and Son Two-Piano Benefit Recital, held on Friday, October 3 at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall. Nearly 500 guests filled the hall for the full house performance, which raised nearly $120,000 in support of CPC’s mission to empower Chinese American, immigrant, and low-income families across New York City.
The recital, featuring acclaimed pianists Michelle Chen Kuo and Christopher Kuo, transported audiences through a stunning repertoire of Romantic-era masterpieces. Their artistry, warmth, and generosity created a deeply moving celebration of CPC’s six decades of impact.
CPC expressed its heartfelt gratitude to The Kuo Family and Two Piano Journy, Resorts World New York City, and all other event sponsors and partners whose generosity made the evening possible. Following the performance, guests and sponsors joined a VIP reception to commemorate this milestone year and honor CPC’s legacy of service.
“For 60 years, CPC has stood alongside generations of individuals and families, helping them achieve their full potential,” said Wayne Ho, President & CEO of CPC. “This evening was not only a celebration of our history but also a testament to the power of community and partnership.”
“We are profoundly grateful to Michelle and Chris for their extraordinary generosity, talent, and dedication,” added Chester P. Lee, CPC Board Chair. “Their performance and commitment embody the spirit of CPC, uplifting others through passion, excellence, and service.”
"Performing for CPC’s 60th Anniversary was deeply meaningful for us,” said Michelle Chen Kuo and Christopher Kuo. “Every single concert we perform, in full, is for the benefit of an organization doing critical work to make our world a better place. Through this recital, we were honored to celebrate CPC’s legacy of empowering families and strengthening communities—it was a joy to share this milestone with so many who believe in creating a more caring and inclusive New York."
Proceeds from the recital will directly support CPC’s programs serving more than 80,000 New Yorkers annually, including early childhood education, youth development, adult literacy, job training, senior services, and resources for families with special needs.
