Brooklyn Older Adult Center Hosts Thanksgiving Celebration

November 20, 2023
On November 19th, the Thanksgiving celebration at CPC Beacon Center, hosted by CPC Brooklyn Older Adult Center, brought together 300 community members. Attendees had a shared Thanksgiving meal, expressed gratitude to one another, and enjoyed a variety of performances. Additionally, turkeys were distributed to community members in preparation for their individual Thanksgiving meals.

GrowNYC Provides Nourishment to CPC Brooklyn Seniors in Partnership with Council Member Menchaca

In the beginning of March, CPC along with Red Hook Neighborhood Senior Center began partnering with GrowNYC to host a Fresh Food For Seniors Program with funding from the Office of Council Member Carlos Menchaca. Though the partnership is on hold, the 10-week pilot program will provide fresh produce from local growers to seniors through GrowNYC on a bi-weekly basis.
