CPC's NY Chinatown Older Adult Center Relocates to 55 Chrystie Street

CPC is pleased to announce that the NY Chinatown Older Adult Center has moved to a new location at 55 Chrystie Street. The center’s new location provides older adults with congregate meals, education and recreation activities, case assistance services, and other programming for the following five years before returning to operate at its original site at 70 Mulberry Street in Chinatown. A ceremony was held today to celebrate the center's new home.

CPC’s 58th Annual Lunar New Year Benefit Raises $380,000 for Community Services

On February 16th, CPC celebrated our 58th Annual Lunar New Year Benefit at the House of Joy banquet hall in Chinatown. We were honored to welcome and celebrate our largest annual special event with Governor Kathy Hochul, Congresswoman Grace Meng, Senator Iwen Chu, Senator Brian Kavanagh, Senator John Liu, Assembly Member Grace Lee, Assembly Member Steven Raga, Comptroller Brad Lander, and Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, our benefit successfully raised $380,000, which will go towards supporting our mission to empower and uplift Asian American, immigrant, and low-income communities in New York City. Congratulations again to our honorees for their extraordinary contributions and dedication to the community!

CPC Project Gateway Members Embark on a Visit to Mercy College

On February 21st, CPC's Project Gateway members had the opportunity to explore Mercy College's Dobbs Ferry Campus. The students were thrilled to visit the campus and gain a deeper understanding of the college experience and the school's programs. One of the highlights of the visit was a guided tour of the college's clinical simulation rooms, where the students were introduced to the nursing program and the potential career opportunities that are available in this field.

CPC Holds 5th Annual State Advocacy Days in Albany and Virtually

On February 27th, CPC held our 5th Annual State Advocacy Day in Albany, followed by a virtual event on February 28th. More than 125 staff and community members met with over 39 New York State legislators, where they shared personal stories and advocated for a budget that lifts up AAPI, immigrant, and low-income New Yorkers. These priorities include advocating for increased wages for human services and home care workers, fully funding critical human services, investing $66.5 million in AAPI organizations via the AAPI Equity Budget, and more.
