  • Brooklyn OAC Hosts Independence Day Celebration

    July 3, 2025
    On July 3rd, the CPC Brooklyn Older Adult Center hosted an Independence Day celebration for over 150 community members. The event brought older adults together for an afternoon of live performances, delicious food and drinks, and raffle prizes. More than just a party, the gathering provided an opportunity for older adults to reconnect with neighbors, and celebrate both the spirit of independence and the close-knit bonds within the community.

  • CPC Bridges Gap Between OPWDD and Chinese Community

    July 16, 2025
    On July 15th, CPC facilitated a virtual dialogue between New York's Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and nearly 100 Chinese-American parents and advocates. The meeting provided updates on OPWDD's strategic plan while giving families from Brooklyn and Queens a platform to voice ongoing challenges. Wei Zhang, CPC Program Supervisor for the Services for Families with Special Needs in Brooklyn, and Jacqueline Fan, Program Director of Queens Special Needs, called for streamlined application processes and increased funding for family support services to better serve the communities.
