CPC and Healthfirst Connect Chinatown Seniors with Medicare Guidance and Health Resources

On June 24th, CPC Open Door Older Adult Center hosted a Chinese-language healthy aging event to connect older adults and caregivers with Medicare coverage guidance, health education and community resources.
This event combined culturally relevant health education with practical tools to help community members make informed decisions and support their long-term health. Healthfirst Medicare specialists provided information about available benefits, savings programs and community resources that support healthy aging. Healthfirst Medicare specialists also explained recent changes to Medicare. Now, dual Medicare members can change plans at any time if they switch to a coordinated care plan that provides both Medicare and Medicaid coverage all in one plan.
"At CPC, we understand that many older adults and families value health information and services that reflect their culture and language. In this event with Healthfirst, we are connecting community members with health education and Medicare guidance and empowering them to make informed decisions that support their well-being," Wayne Ho, President and CEO of the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC).
"When it comes to Medicare and healthy aging, having access to trusted resources can make all the difference. We are bringing these in-language resources directly to the Chinatown community and connecting older adults with support, savings programs and coverage options that fit their needs,” Katherine Fitzpatrick, AVP of Medicare Growth, Healthfirst.
