Alice Du Named to Schneps Media’s 2025 Brooklyn Power List

On September 25th, Alice Du, Director of Communications, was honored at The Brooklyn Power List Gala presented by Schneps Media for her leadership in strategic communications and storytelling. The list recognizes the most influential individuals in the region for their commitment, impact and influence in the community. Alice D has over a decade of global experience in strategic communication, media relations, and digital engagement across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. She provides executive leadership, shapes the organization’s communications strategy, and oversees messaging across multiple platforms. 

Julio Peña III Honored as a Latino Trailblazer

On September 15th, Julio Peña III Director of CPC Project Reach, was recognized in City and State’s inaugural Latino Trailblazers list. The list celebrates Latino leaders that have already blazed a trail in many other arenas, from health care to major philanthropies to startups. Julio oversees youth development programs as well as LGBTQ+ and antidiscrimination workshops, advancing opportunities for youth of all backgrounds. Separately, as a Democratic district leader in Sunset Park and Red Hook and as chair of Brooklyn Community Board 7, he has championed equity, inclusion and youth engagement.

CPC Partners with Caribbean Equality Project to Advocate for LGBTQIA+ Youth

On September 9th, CPC and the Caribbean Equality Project presented a workshop at the 4th Annual Governor’s LGBTQIA+ Convening in Albany. The session centered on the unique experiences of AAPI communities and explored policy solutions and community-led strategies to address healthcare disparities in New York State. Gilbert Wu, Director of Community Health Services, and Samantha Kombel, Health Educator Supervisor, represented CPC. They highlighted the need for holistic care, increased mental health resources, equitable funding, and improved data collection to serve youth effectively. 

CPC Joins Assemblywoman Rozic's Family Fun Day

On August 24th, CPC Queens Community Services tabled at Assemblywoman Nily Rozic's Annual Family Fun Day in Cunningham Park. The event, which drew a crowd of over 1,000 community members, provided an opportunity for CPC to connect with local families. The CPC team shared information on key programs and resources at the booth. They further engaged attendees with popular hands-on activities, including button-making and crown-making classes.
