CPC Advocacy Advisory Council Hosts Appreciation Lunch to Celebrate Advocacy Achievements with Staff

On July 7th, CPC’s Advocacy Advisory Council hosted an appreciation lunch to recognize and celebrate the hard work and efforts of our staff in promoting equity and raising awareness in the community. From creating advocacy posters to speaking at rallies, staff members have been committed to driving positive change in our community through both words and actions.

Deputy Mayor Almanzar and DYCD Commissioner Visit CPC’s Summer Rising Program at PS130

On July 7th, Deputy Mayor for Strategic Initiatives Ana Almanzar and NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) Commissioner Keith Howard paid a special visit to our Summer Rising Program at PS130 and interacted with participants and staff.

CPC Statement on the NYC FY 23-24 Adopted Budget

On June 30th, New York City passed a $107 billion budget for FY24. CPC acknowledges and commends the City Council for restoring major cuts to social services proposed in the Executive Budget. However, we are deeply disappointed that the critical investments needed to sustain the human services workforce were left out of the budget, and that while restorations were made, the budget failed to invest deeply in social safety net, education, housing and the resources necessary to support Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI), immigrant, and low-income communities. 

CPC Joins Just Pay Sleepout and Rally to Advocate for Human Services Workers

On June 21st, several members of the CPC Leadership Team joined over 50 non-profit executive directors outside City Hall for a sleepout as part of the #JustPay campaign to advocate for a 6.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for human services workers in the final City budget.
