CPC and Apex for Youth Host Career Exploration Event

On March 12th, CPC and Apex for Youth co-hosted a Career Exploration Event at CPC One for over 50 youth from the CPC Education & Career Services Program and Apex for Youth. The event empowered students to explore diverse career paths and build meaningful connections with industry leaders. It featured insights from CPC’s policy, legal, and programs teams, as well as board members Chester and Fabien, who shared their experiences working in the nonprofit sector and beyond.

CPC’s Statement on the Protest Outside Our 60th Anniversary Gala Venue

We firmly believe in the right of individuals to peacefully protest as a fundamental part of a democratic society. However, we are troubled by reports of unauthorized filming, shouting, physical aggression, and harassment directed at our guests—including older adults and individuals in wheelchairs—as they entered our 60th Anniversary Gala’s venue. We are also concerned by reports of aggressive behavior, including shoving and verbal disrespect, directed at our workers, who were simply doing their jobs to ensure guests could enter the venue safely.

CPC Advocates for Childcare Equity at ABNY and 5BORO Institute Panel

On March 6th, CPC joined a panel hosted by ABNY and The 5BORO Institute to discuss the future of childcare and the policy changes needed to improve access, affordability, and quality for the workforce. Wayne Ho, CPC President and CEO, advocated for pay parity for community-based early childhood educators, a continuum of care serving children ages 0-5, and increased language access for immigrant families. 

CPC Celebrates 60 Years of Community Services at Annual Benefit, Raises Over $1.5 Million to Empower Communities

On February 28th, CPC held its annual gala at Cipriani Wall Street, celebrating 60 years of empowering and uplifting Asian American, immigrant, and low-income communities in New York City. The sold-out event welcomed more than 900 guests and raised over $1.5 million, with 100% of proceeds supporting CPC’s efforts to expand essential programming, particularly for immigrant New Yorkers during this critical time of economic uncertainty and policy challenges, promote staff development, and advocate for policy priorities that advance equity and inclusion for all.
