CPC Hosted the Golden Day Community Carnival to Encourage Voting Participation
New York, NY – The Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) hosted the Golden Day Community Carnival today at CPC One to empower and encourage community members to engage in the voting process ahead of the upcoming elections. The event helped ensure that voters are informed, prepared, and confident as they head to the polls.
Golden Day marks two key events: it is the last day to register to vote and the first day of early voting for Federal, State, and City elections. During the Carnival, multilingual CPC staff guided participants through the voting process, answered election-related questions, and provided crucial resources such as voter registration assistance, absentee ballot requests, and polling location information.
"Voting is not just a right; it’s a powerful tool for enacting change and shaping our future,” said Wayne Ho, President and CEO of CPC. “Through the Golden Day Community Carnival, we are ensuring that our community members are equipped with the knowledge and support to participate in the voting process and have their voices heard in these critical elections.”
In addition to offering these valuable resources, the event provided a platform for community members to share their thoughts and experiences regarding the elections. The festival also featured fun, family-friendly activities, including face painting, a pumpkin patch, paper cutting, calligraphy, hot chocolate, and cotton candy.
