"Hate Has No Home" Fresh Produce Distribution Event
On Tuesday, June 15th, 2021, Chinese-American Planning Council Brooklyn Community Services partnered with Met Council to host a food distribution event to address food insecurity in NYC and to fight back against hate and discrimination on the AAPI community.
We are proud to stand in solidarity with all our partners, Catholic Charities Queens and Brooklyn, Council of Peoples Organization, Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, La Journada, The Ali Forney Center, and the UJA Federation of New York. "Hate Has No Home," not here and not anywhere in NYC. We stand united to support our community against hate crimes and discrimination as well as address hunger in our city.
We passed out over 1000 shares of fresh produce, including bok choy, cauliflower, mango, among others. We are extremely thankful to Met Council for the ability to distribute produce to community members in need.
Shout out to the Offices of Senator Andrew Gounardes, Assembly Member Peter Abbate, Council Member Carlos Menchaca, Council Member Justin Brannan, and Community Board 7 Chair Cesar Zuniga for joining our event and support our efforts against hate and discrimination.
