Open Door Senior Center Celebrates Their 42nd Anniversary

On October 28, 2014, CPC's Open Door Senior Center celebrated their 42nd anniversary under blue skies and lucky red banners. Hundreds of Open Door Senior Center members celebrated the history of their program and the health of the program participants. Public Officials NYS Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, NYS Senator Daniel Squadron, NYS Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, NYC Councilmember Margaret Chin, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., Commissioner of the Dept. for the Aging Donna M. Corrado, Adam Chen from NYC Public Advocate Letitia James' Office, former-NYC Councilmember Alan Gerson, CPC Board members and many more community leaders and supporters joined our seniors for the celebration. CPC CEO David Chen expressed his deep gratitude for the support many have given Open Door and CPC over the years. As Open Door begins to celebrate their 42nd year of service to the community, CPC begins to celebrate our 50th year of service and hopes to inspire young and old to give back and be an active part of the community. CPC Open Door Senior Center Director Po-Ling Ng and CPC founder Virginia Kee also voiced their sincere thanks to the community for their unending support of this much needed program and the work that CPC as an organization does on a daily basis.
