On Wednesday, November 13th, 2019, Tamia Rodriguez, MSW, spoke to members of CPC Brooklyn Senior Services about preventing elder abuse. Every year, hundreds of older adults are abused, neglected and exploited. Without resources, they are unable to help themselves when they fall victim to abuse. Many are also unaware of what elder abuse looks like. Tamia Rodriguez taught our members how to recognize elder abuse and how to prevent it from happening.
Tamia Rodriguez is the program director of JASA Legal/ Social Work Elder Abuse Program (LEAP).
This workshop was funded through NYS Office for New Americans (ONA) Opportunity Center and Department for the Aging (DFTA).
