32 Community Based Organizations Release Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Neighborhood Recovery Plan

Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) neighborhoods have experienced the economic devastation of COVID-19 since long before the shelter-in-place began. 32 AAPI community based organizations have united to release the following plan to call on New York City and State government officials to prioritize AAPI neighborhoods in recovery efforts. While AAPI neighborhoods were the first to suffer, we will not be the last to recover.

Know Your Rights: Emergency Paid Sick Days and Paid Leave for Child Care and Coronavirus

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) provides many workers new rights to paid sick time and paid family leave to use for coronavirus-related health and family caregiving reasons like quarantine and child care. For longer-term child-care needs, the Families First Act provides up to 12 weeks of job-protected family leave for working parents whose child’s school or usual place of care is closed or unavailable due to the coronavirus. Mayor de Blasio Appoints CPC President and CEO Wayne Ho to Sector Advisory Council

On May 8th, Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed CPC President and CEO Wayne Ho to the newly formed Non-Profit and Social Services Sector Advisory Council. The council will serve as critical links to disseminate information about re-opening and provide guidance to shape the City’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
