On November 7th, City & State New York highlighted the policy initiatives and advocacy efforts discussed at the Somos Conference in Puerto Rico, focusing particularly on immigrant protections in New York following the presidential election.

Carlyn Cowen, our Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer, was quoted discussing how New York can better support migrants by implementing policies that protect immigrants and ensure they have access to essential benefits such as housing and food assistance. They emphasized that these protections are critical to helping immigrants thrive, regardless of their legal status, and reiterated that these priorities will continue to drive CPC’s advocacy efforts as we work to ensure that New York remains a sanctuary state.
