On December 6th, CPC hosted a Hepatitis B workshop for residents of Hong Ning and 64 Norfolk Senior Housing. Facilitated by Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, participants learned about Hepatitis B and its prevalence among Asian Americans, who account for approximately 60% of Hepatitis B cases in the United States. Attendees were screened for the disease and received resources for follow-up care.
This workshop highlighted a critical aspect: Hepatitis B can frequently be transmitted during childbirth, leading many individuals to unknowingly live with chronic forms of the disease.
