CPC in Gotham Gazette on Sustaining the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)

CPC's Chief Strategy Officer Brian Chen advocated for fully funding the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) in the Gotham Gazette on August 19th. CPC has been providing SYEP services since 1979, including this summer in a modified capacity known as Summer Bridge.
“In an ideal world, and speaking personally, if there was an opportunity for us to really service and enroll and enrich and empower every single youth that actually applied to the program, that would be kind of the North Star,” said Chen. “Are we going to continue to push for funding? Yeah. Is it 75,000? I would say that would be the baseline because we’ve reached that number not too long ago.”
