On February 26th, the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) collaborated with Eva Lee, Market Director Trainee at JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) to provide a financial wellness workshop and mentorship opportunity for community members, including youth from CPC's Project Gateway College Counseling Center. As part of our Business Exploration Student Track (BEST) Mentorship Program, community members were engaged with professional volunteers to provide resume review and constructive feedback on how to improve one's resume to maximize internship opportunities.

CPC high school and college students were invited to sit in a Chase Chat facilitated by Tocheanna Jones, Personal Banker and Manger on Duty at JPMC, hosted by Jurida Dobruna, Senior Branch Manager VP at JPMC. Community members were engaged in a discussion on how to achieving financial well-being including starting a SMART goal and learn the power of saving. Next, our community members received valuable resume advice from JPMC volunteers. Volunteers were paired with community members to provide detailed suggestions on how to improve their resume based on their experience as hiring managers.

Background on CPC BEST Mentorship Program

The Business Exploration Student Track (BEST) Mentorship Program was launched in collaboration with JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) and the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) in January 2018. The mentorship program has three components: a workshop dedicated to coaching students on resume building, mock interview and leadership skills; a Spotlight Speaker Series panel featuring guest speakers to provide career navigation; and a networking session.
