NY Chinatown Older Adult Center's Cultural Excursion to The Met

On November 14th, more than 100 older adults from our NY Chinatown Older Adult Center enjoyed a special outing to The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met). This unique excursion, sponsored by the NYS Department of State AAPI Equity Fund, was designed to enrich their lives through an immersive exploration of art and history. The museum's diverse collection, spanning from ancient artifacts to contemporary masterpieces, provided a rich and engaging experience for the older adults.

CPC and Partners Host AAPI Reception at SOMOS Conference in Puerto Rico

On November 11th, CPC, alongside the New York State Assembly APA Taskforce and nearly 30 organizations, hosted the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Reception at the Somos Conference in Puerto Rico. The conference aims to unite Latinx communities and raise social and public policy awareness across New York State and beyond. The AAPI Reception, attended by over 400 community, labor, legislative, and business leaders, demonstrated solidarity between AAPI and Latinx communities, promoting deeper collaboration on common issues. This was the first time that the AAPI Reception was included in the formal conference agenda. 

Project Gateway Members Explore the World of Architecture at CTA Architects

On November 1st, a group of high school students from CPC Project Gateway program visited the CTA Architects' office in Midtown. One of the key takeaways from the visit was the emphasis on problem-solving in the field of architecture. Students discovered that architects often encounter unexpected challenges that require innovative solutions. They also enjoyed participating in small group conversations with different architects to learn about their backgrounds and unique perspectives on the field.

CPC Brooklyn Raises Over $90,000 to Empower Local Communities

On October 26th, CPC hosted the 44th Brooklyn Community Services Benefit and raised over $90,000 to advance CPC's mission of expanding outreach, providing enhanced support to communities across Brooklyn, and empowering individuals to pursue enriching opportunities in their lives. The event brought together over 500 philanthropic, business, government, and nonprofit leaders to celebrate CPC's transformative programs and services in Brooklyn.
