CPC Presents the Advocacy Advisory Council Report

The Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) is excited to present our Advocacy Advisory Council (AAC) Report. This report showcases the accomplishments of the 2022-2023 cohort of AAC Members.

The AAC is a group of dedicated, frontline staff at CPC who are committed to empowering their colleagues and community members through advocacy. Throughout their term, members expand CPC’s advocacy and organizing efforts, lead advocacy campaigns, and gain crucial skills to be effective advocates.

A few highlights from the report:

  • Mobilized staff for years-long Just Pay campaign to help win a 9.27% pay increase over three years for city-contracted human services workers in a historic $741 million investment
  • Helped win $30 million investment in AAPI communities through New York State’s AAPI Equity Budget
  • Fought for $16 million funding for free childcare for undocumented families through PromiseNYC
  • Collaborated with the Caring Majority, a coalition consisting of home care workers and clients, to get New York State to increase home care worker wages from $15.00/hour to$18.55/hour
