Amy Latorres Director of Education and Career Services is Recognized Among the Community Moms by DYCD

May
11

The Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) celebrated Mother's Day this May by nominating a "community mom" for their annual award. The #DYCDCommunityMoms campaign celebrates mothers and other caretakers who provide inspiration and support to families and communities. These community moms—whether volunteers, mentors, teachers, community leaders, healthcare staff, essential workers, caregivers, aunts, sisters, or mothers—dedicate their time and energy to the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our city, and we hope you'll help us celebrate them this May.

This year, CPC's very own Amy Latorres, Director of Education and Career Services (ECS) was honored this year. Amy Latorres stands out as an exceptional leader whose passion, dedication, long-term commitment, and capacity to contribute are truly outstanding. With notable initiative and self-direction, she has envisioned, conceptualized, advocated for, and implemented new programs that have enriched the community. Her commitment to youth development, family strengthening, and community building has touched the lives of thousands of youth and families in Sunset Park over the course of more than 25 years. Congratulations Amy!
