On October 24th, CPC joined members of United Neighborhood Houses (UNH) for Settlement House Day, a day-long conference hosted by UNH. The event brought together human services workers from over 40 member agencies in the UNH network. Participants engaged in a variety of workshops and panel discussions focused on key issues in the nonprofit sector. These sessions aimed to enhance skills, explore new opportunities for collaboration among settlement houses, and connect with external partners.
Additionally, several CPC staff co-facilitated breakout sessions throughout the day:
- Caroline Scown, Civic Engagement and Training Manager, co-facilitated a workshop on inspiring civic action at settlement houses
- Fabyan Roldan, Director of Training Programs, co-facilitated a workshop on finding joy in the work
- Carlyn Cowen, Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer, and Edwin Tablada, Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy, co-facilitated a workshop on building advocacy at settlement houses
- Brenda Choy, Director of Strategy, co-facilitated a workshop on taking a deeper dive into race at settlement houses
