The mayor's office and governor's office are investing $27 million for community organizations like Chinese American Planning Council and others to distribute to anyone who needs it. Each household can receive up to $72,000. Officials say the funding can be used to help with rental repairs or any damage to the home, as well as child care.

As one of several partner organizations, CPC will provide assistance and accept applications for community members to access the relief funds. The application period will close on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021. In order to qualify for this program, the applicants must a) themselves not be eligible for FEMA assistance and b) not have an individual in their household who is eligible for assistance.

CPC held a press conference to educate the community about the Hurricane Ida Relief Fund. Thank you to State Senator Zellnor Myrie, State Senator Jabari Brisport, and Assembly Member Peter Abbate for joining us.

Please contact Isabella Chan at Ichan@cpc-nyc.org or (718) 685-3315 for assistance.
