Community Collaborates to Provide Education Resources in Brooklyn

On April 1, 2017, CPC Brooklyn Community Services co-hosted a Community Education Fair at P.S.310. This community event was a collaborative effort with CPC, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, A+ Academy, Mass Mutual and the offices of Senator Jesse Hamilton, Assemblyman Peter Abbate and Council Member Carlos Menchaca. All of the organizations brought various educational resources together for a one-stop resource for low income and immigrant families.

Featuring a huge line-up of educational experts, each guest speaker had a different wealth of knowledge and resources to provide such as information on Gifted & Talented classes, how to fill out FAFSA forms, after-school and summer programs, extracurricular activities, youth internship programs, parenting workshops, Summer Youth Employment Program information and on-site ELL Level assessment.  A+ Academy also provided students with a free Mock SHSAT Exam, as well as tips on how the test has changed for the first time in 30 years.

Investing in our future generations will always be an integral part of CPC's mission for socioeconomic equality and we will continue working had to ensure that every family has the same opportunities for success!
