CPC Celebrates Thanksgiving with Our Community

Dec

CPC celebrated Thanksgiving with community members across our early childhood centers, older adult centers, and community centers throughout the city. Our centers distributed turkeys and hosted Thanksgiving meals, while children enjoyed fun holiday activities. CPC is grateful for the support of our partners, volunteers, and donors, who made this Thanksgiving extra special for everyone we serve.

Hong Ning Housing: Care packages with rice, noodles, oil, and snacks were distributed to residents, thanks to the volunteers from UCLA at Baruch College.

Brooklyn Older Adult Mental Health Services: The team hosted over 30 community members for a fun cooking contest and arts and crafts sessions.

Brooklyn Older Adult Center: The center received 50 turkeys from the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office, with additional funding for turkeys provided by Council Member Alexa Avilés. A special thank you to Comptroller Brad Lander, Lester Chang, and representatives from the offices of the New York State Attorney General and Congressman Dan Goldman for joining the celebration.

Chinatown Older Adult Center: Over 380 community members gathered to enjoy performances by the Chinese Orchestra and Opera group.

Nan Shan Older Adult Center: Turkeys were distributed to community members, thanks to Peter Tu of the Flushing Chinese Business Association for 15 years of generous donations and to Council Member Sandra Ung for her continued support.

Tribeca and Garment Industry Day Care Centers: Families baked pumpkin waffles, sang songs, and shared a festive potluck together.
