CPC Celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival with Community Members
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a cherished occasion for family reunions and festivities, celebrated not only by Chinese and Vietnamese but also by various other Asian communities. Across all our sites and centers, CPC hosted a range of activities including dim sum brunches, lantern-making workshops, and mooncake giveaways. We extend our deepest gratitude to our generous donors, supporters, and partners whose contributions were instrumental in making this festival a truly extraordinary event for our community members.
The CPC Chinatown Older Adult Center brought together over 350 community members to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Our older adults received two moon cakes during a special lunch, made possible by the generous sponsorship of Ms. Lai Ling Li and Health First.
Over at CPC Nan Shan Older Adult Center, a dim sum brunch was held at Royal Queens Restaurant in Flushing. This grand celebration saw the participation of over 500 seniors, staff, elected officials, sponsors, and community partners.
CPC Open Door Senior Center also hosted a lively Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.
In a joint effort, CPC Hong Ning Senior Housing and Norfolk Senior Housing organized a festive evening for residents. The event included a lantern display, mooncakes, refreshments, and even some karaoke!
Meanwhile, children at CPC Chung Pak Early Childhood Center learned about the significance of the Mooncake Festival and crafted handmade lanterns.
In addition, the CPC Geriatric Mental Health Initiative organized a Mid-Autumn celebration featuring a lantern-making workshop and mooncakes at the Brooklyn Community Center. We also collaborated with State Senator Iwen Chu for a mooncake and tea drink giveaway.
