The Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC), the nation’s largest Asian American social services organization, celebrated its 57th anniversary and the Year of the Tiger at CPC’s Lunar New Year Virtual Benefit on Thursday, March 10, 2022.

In consideration of safety and concern about COVID-19, CPC held its 2022 Virtual Benefit, streamed live on March 10th at 6pm. Although we could not celebrate in person this year, nearly 300 guests were in attendance to recognize our committed community partners and to honor Mannings Surgical Supplies and Confucius Pharmacy and GrowNYC with Community Service Awards.

This year’s theme was “Building Relief, Recovery, and Resilience” – a statement that reflects CPC’s commitment to advance and transform lives. In the past year, CPC has served over 125,000 New Yorkers from low income and immigrant communities. The event raised over $480,000 to support essential services and to address our community members’ health, economic, and safety needs.

US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, NYS Governor Kathy Hochul, NYC Mayor Eric Adams and NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams attended the event and gave welcome and congratulatory remarks. Over 29 elected officials submitted their greetings which can be viewed at http://www.cpc-nyc.org/events/cpcs-57th-annual-lunar-new-year-virtual-benefit, including US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, US Representative Grace Meng, NYS Comptroller Thomas P.
