Statement on Governor Hochul’s State of the State Address

New York, NY – The Community-Based Home Care Workgroup is pleased that Governor Hochul emphasized the importance of home care in her State of the State Address and committed to invest in the workforce and community-based care so that older adults and disabled New Yorkers can receive care with dignity in their homes. We urge the Governor to include Fair Pay for Home Care (S5374 May/A6329 Gottfried), fully funding 24-hour care (A3145A Epstein/S359 Persaud), and lifting the Medicaid Global Cap in her FY23 Executive Budget, as well as key investments in innovation, training, and oversight. Full funding for these critical investments will meet the bold vision that she outlined for a more caring New York.
