CPC joined Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, elected officials, Asian American and anti-violence allies at a press conference on March 30th to #StopAsianHate and promote bystander intervention. Speakers called for action after an Asian American woman was violently attacked outside of a building in midtown Manhattan.

Carlyn Cowen, CPC Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer, spoke about CPC staff who have faced harassment while providing essential services throughout the pandemic and why all communities need to stand together in solidarity. Carlyn also advocated for upstander training and investment in community based organizations, including calling on the Governor and State Legislature to allocate $19.5 million in the State budget to support Asian American New Yorkers and the organizations who serve them.
