CPC Brooklyn Senior Services Celebrates Lunar New Year and Valentines Day!
Every year, CPC Brooklyn Senior Services hosts a grand Lunar New Year celebration to bring in the new year. This year, CPC Brooklyn Senior Services also celebrated Valentines Day with our senior members. On Friday, February 14th, 2020, CPC Brooklyn Senior Services hosted our annual Lunar New Year Celebration at Park Asia Restaurant. Over 200 senior members gathered to celebrate The Year of the Rat. As members enter Park Asia, they are given a small New Years gift bag full of treats and a beautiful flower. The lion dance performance kicked off the celebration bringing good luck and good health to our senior members. During the celebration, we announced the winners for the Welcome New Year 2020 photo exhibition. Photos were submitted by the members and voted among the members throughout January. In addition to dancing, singing and Taichi performances, interactive table games brought cheer and smiles to everyone as members compete against one another to win prizes. To continue the festivities, CPC Brooklyn Senior Services also celebrated the birthday of senior members who are born in the month of February. All birthday members were given a birthday gift. Not only were there many giveaways, but also members a variety of raffle prizes! Three lucky winners won large mouse plushies to take home.
A huge thank you to our friends from Emblem Health, Integra Managed Care, United Healthcare, Wellcare, and Xincon Home Health Care Services, for sponsoring raffle prizes for our CPC Brooklyn Senior Services Lunar New Year Celebration! In addition, thank you to HealthFirst for providing birthday gifts for our Senior members born in the month of February. We'd also like to express our gratitude to Brooklyn Crafted for providing herbal tea for community members, and Elite Learning Center for sponsoring a Lion Dance to ring in the Year of the Rat.
