The Genders Are Coming! CPC Project Reach in the Pride March!

On June 24, 2018, over 30 staff and community members from CPC took part in the New York City Pride March.  In a diverse contingent of over 30 young people, Project Reach presented the wide range of "genders" that make up the transgender and gender non-conforming community. Within a culture which promotes rigid gender-role conformity, its people are forced to assume roles that not only limit who people can be but also forces them to perpetuate sexism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia.  

In a diverse contingent of over 30 young people, CPC Project Reach presented the wide range of "genders" that make up the transgender and gender non-conforming community. Terms and definitions that might be difficult to grasp at first, Project Reach's float led off with the lead slogan "THE GENDERS ARE COMING!  THE GENDERS ARE COMING!"
