Norman Lau-Kee

The CPC Board of Directors and Staff are sad to inform you that our dear friend and long-time supporter, Norman Lau-Kee, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Mr. Kee had been there for the start of CPC in 1965, when the organization was a grassroots idea born and incubated in a small Chinatown apartment. With the initial support of the Kee family, CPC was able to grow from a grassroots nonprofit with $87 to their name, thanks to the sale of a donated car, to become the largest Asian American social service organization in the United States. In 2014, CPC honored Norman Lau-Kee and his wife, Esther G. Kee, as Honorees of the 47th Annual Lunar New Year Gala for their commitment to public service and dedication to the New York Chinatown community. CPC thanks Norman Lau-Kee for all that he has done for New York.
