Nan Shan OAC Hosts Spring Festival Dim Sum Brunch to Celebrate International Women’s Day

On March 7th, the CPC Nan Shan Older Adult Center hosted a Spring Festival Dim Sum Brunch in collaboration with the World Madam Organization. The event, held at the Royal Queen Restaurant, brought together 500 older adults, staff, and elected officials for a celebration of food, culture, and community. Guests enjoyed a dim sum brunch, singing performances, and raffle prizes. Elected officials in attendance included U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng, New York State Senator John Liu, Assembly Member Steven Raga, and Council Member Sandra Ung. 

CPC Celebrates 60 Years of Community Services at Annual Benefit, Raises Over $1.5 Million to Empower Communities

On February 28th, CPC held its annual gala at Cipriani Wall Street, celebrating 60 years of empowering and uplifting Asian American, immigrant, and low-income communities in New York City. The sold-out event welcomed more than 900 guests and raised over $1.5 million, with 100% of proceeds supporting CPC’s efforts to expand essential programming, particularly for immigrant New Yorkers during this critical time of economic uncertainty and policy challenges, promote staff development, and advocate for policy priorities that advance equity and inclusion for all.  

CPC Advocates for Community Priorities at Caucus Weekend

From February 14th to 16th, CPC participated in the New York State Association of Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic, and Asian Legislative Caucus Weekend in Albany. The event provided a platform to advocate for legislative and budget priorities that strengthen our communities, including the AAPI Equity Budget, the Just Pay Campaign for human services workers, the Fair Pay for Home Care initiative, and other critical investments to support staff and community members. CPC also spoke at the “Human Services Pay Equity is Racial Equity” workshop and stressed the importance of pay equity in human services and home care sectors.

Senator Gillibrand Hosts Press Conference at CPC Queens Community Center to Address Federal Funding Freeze

On February 3rd, World Journal reported that U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand held a press conference at the CPC Queens Community Center, where she strongly opposed the Trump administration's decision to freeze federal funding. She explained how this move would negatively impact the Asian American community, particularly low-income families who rely on food banks, school lunch programs, and other essential welfare services.
