2017 Summer Internships

Job Description:

We are currently seeking passionate individuals interested in the non-profit sector to fill several internship positions for the summer. Available internship departments include: Operations and Compliance, Development, Non-profit Administration, Public Health and Special Events. We are also open to learning your interests regarding the non-profit sector, and will determine if an appropriate opportunity is available.

Location and Schedule:

150 Elizabeth Street, New York, New York 10012

Office hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

15-20 hours per week; flexible based on student’s schedule  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations and Compliance / Non-profit Administration:

The intern will assist the Operations and Compliance team on public health management assignments, Medicaid compliance responsibilities and a variety of special projects. The intern will get a first-hand look at the administrative components of several of our programs and will help develop and implement agency policies.

Development:

This internship is a great opportunity for someone with exceptional analytical and writing skills to learn about fundraising and development operations at a large non-profit organization. The intern will assist the Development team with writing, research, evaluation of data and special projects that support the overall mission of the organization.

Public Health:

This internship provides an opportunity for a graduate-level person to utilize his/her background in community health and culturally-appropriate meal planning to assist our Food Service program. Our Food Service program provides meals for several of our day care centers in Chinatown. Interns will master the administrative nuts and bolts of our funding source, the NYS Children and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), monitoring meal quality and formulating nutritious menus for CPC participants in compliance with funding sources’ guidelines.

Experience & Qualifications:

Internships are open to college and graduate level students. Candidates are asked to verify class standing and/or grade point average. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet management; graphic design is helpful. Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is helpful but not required. CPC is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and national origins.
